Bed Former
SİSSAN Bed Former with Bed-forming Rollers forms uniform raised beds and furrows before sowing or planting; its roller system gives the bed surface a balanced, smooth final profile.
- 4-, 6- and 8-unit production options
- Ground-following spring-loaded down-pressure system
- On 6- and 8-unit models hydraulically folding frame
- Uniform beds, well-defined furrows and controlled surface pressure
- Suitable for vegetable production and row crops grown on raised beds
SİSSAN Bed Former with Bed-forming Rollers
Form uniform raised beds and furrows and complete pre-sowing preparation with greater control.
Uniform Beds, Even Field Surface
SİSSAN Bed Former is designed to form prepared soil into raised beds at defined intervals before sowing or planting and to finish the bed surface with a roller system.
The shaping units gather soil along the row while the rear bed-forming rollers give the surface its final profile. This creates straighter, parallel beds and furrows suited to subsequent operations.

Why Use a Bed Former?
Uniform Bed Formation
Gathers soil evenly to create clear, continuous raised beds for sowing or planting.
Controlled Roller Pressure
The rollers consolidate loose soil in a controlled manner and help stabilise the resulting bed profile.
Uniform Furrows
The furrows between the beds direct surface water along the rows and help establish an effective irrigation pattern.
Preparation for Subsequent Operations
Creates uniform row geometry for sowing, planting, crop care and irrigation operations.
Bed Formation and Final Roller Shaping
The front working units direct tilled soil from both sides towards the centre to form a raised bed. The following rollers level the surface and produce a consistent, continuous profile.
This operating principle completes bed formation and surface finishing in a single pass, producing more consistent rows while reducing the number of passes required before sowing.
Ground Following with Spring-loaded Pressure
The system used on the SİSSAN Bed Former spring-loaded down-pressure system helps the roller units follow the ground more effectively during operation. The spring mechanism distributes roller pressure more evenly across the soil.
This maintains a continuous bed profile across minor surface variations and enables controlled shaping without excessive soil compaction.

4-, 6- and 8-unit Model Options
For different field sizes and daily capacity requirements, the
SİSSAN Bed Former is available with 4, 6 or 8 units . Unit arrangement can be specified according to the crop row pattern and the farm’s operating requirements.
4-unit Model
A practical fixed-frame option for farms requiring a more compact working width and for medium-sized fields.
6-unit Hydraulic-folding Model
This higher-capacity model moves easily between working and transport positions using the hydraulic folding system.
8-unit Hydraulic-folding Model
Designed for high daily output in large fields. The hydraulically folding frame simplifies conversion to the transport position.
Production Tailored to Requirements
The model and unit layout are planned according to row spacing, crop structure, tractor specifications and field conditions.

Easy Transport with Hydraulic Folding
On 6- and 8-unit models, hydraulic folding converts the wide working structure into a compact transport position when leaving the field. Operation through the tractor hydraulics provides convenient handling for the operator.
Before transport, ensure that the wings are fully folded, the hydraulic system is secure and all required mechanical transport locks are engaged.
Where Can It Be Used?
Vegetable Production
Suitable for preparing vegetable fields where crops are sown or planted on raised beds.
Furrow-irrigated Fields
Creates uniform furrows that allow irrigation water to flow between the rows.
Pre-sowing Preparation
Used for the final shaping of pre-tilled soil at suitable moisture before sowing or planting.
Large-scale Farms
The 6- and 8-unit models provide higher daily capacity across large areas.
Key Features of the SİSSAN Bed Former
Bed and Furrow Formation
Shapes the soil to suit a uniform row layout.
Spring-loaded Roller Pressure
A system that supports ground contour following and balanced surface pressure.
Hydraulic Folding
Easy conversion between working and transport positions on 6- and 8-unit models.
Three Model Options
4-, 6- and 8-unit models for different capacity requirements.
The number of units, row spacing and working settings should be selected according to the crop, soil structure and moisture, tractor specifications and the farm’s required daily capacity.

Model selection: The exact working width, weight, tractor power and hydraulic requirements are confirmed by SİSSAN after the preferred row spacing and machine configuration have been specified.
Working at unsuitable soil moisture may distort the bed profile and cause soil to build up on the rollers. For the best results, the field should be pre-tilled, cleared of large clods and the roller pressure adjusted to field conditions.
